Introduction
This week we are going to read part of the story by Dianne Wollfer called Light Horse Boy. Like other Dianne Wolfer novels, this one is set during World War One and concentrates on one aspect of the war.
We are reading Light Horse Boy this week because it is on the Shortlist for the Children's Book Council of Australia award for the Book of the Year for Younger Readers. Look at this year's poster and locate it. We will know by next week (Book Week) the winners of each category. This book will be part of the performance coming to school next Tuesday for Book Week so it will be good to be familiar with it before the performance. |
