Before Reading
Discuss a favourite family holiday you have experienced.
Where did you go? Who went? What things did you do? What did you like? What things didn't you like? What things don't you like about going on holidays? Perhaps it was a family holiday where you stayed at home and visitors came to your house? What was it that makes it a special memory? Look at the front cover. Notice that the title is bold and takes up most of the cover. The word Summer is in red. What do you notice is weaving in and out of the title? Do you think it is significant to what the book might be about? What do you think this book will be about? Who do you think this book is suited for? Why? Read the blurb. Has the blurb given you any more information of what the book is about? Do you think you will like it? |
